News and Updates 2008

I am very happy to introduce the visitors into two new tools on my website. The first one is a music finder tool to find your favorite music. You refine with some music attributes the search result and get the possibilty to listen to your favorite music.

The other nice tool is the aNTiDY newsletter. This German newsletter will come up 3-4 times a year by discussions and talks about music, movies and techniques. Enjoy it.

Silken Silence

The movie is about the love story between two deaf poeple. Honestly, for a musician it is a tough task to compose music for a movie about people neither beeing able to listen to music nor to any other sound and by that for an audience that may also not be able to hear. Besides the disenchantment for me as composer, i happen to take it as a great opportunity. I had to find new ways for working with music. So I decided to combine music and low frequency vibrations to convey the musical message to the audience with hearing problems.

After a successful start of the film "Lili and the Dentist" at the Christmas time 2007, the film has won the the first place in the "Long Night of the short films" in July 2008 (Fünf-Seen-Filmfest).

Werkstatt fuer junge Filmer

Last year I wrote music for the short film "Praxis des Grauens oder Lili muss zum Zahnarzt". For the film "Wegen Nelly" I wrote the trailer music. Both films are shown on the festival workshop "Werkstatt für junge Filmer". Download the program

Motif recognition software

Since 3 months I am working on a very interesting research project in co-operation with the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. The software will be released in the early summer time and will recognize motifs in own composed music. You can upload any music and the software will find automaticly motifs in the composed track. More news will follow soon.

Big Studio of Nalepastr.

With the incredible help and knowledge of film composer Rainer Oleak, I had the great possibility to remaster songs of the short movie "Die Praxis des Grauens oder Lili muss zum Zahnarzt". Everytime you are working as a composer you will need to hit scenes on the right moment. If you are composing the traditional way (like John Williams or James Horner), you will need a clickbook. A clickbook is helpful for writing music which syncs up directly with the film and making hitpoints possible. Mostly you will need a clickbook for jingles in commercials, for indepentant films and it is always indispensable for big motion pictures. Clickbook here

After a good ending of year 2007, I have got the DVD of the tale "Praxis des Grauens oder Lili muss zum Zahnarzt". For everybody who is interesting in the orchestral work, should watch a sample and listen to the neat sound.
